Adult Painting Don't miss out on these painting workshops and classes.  Studio 4 Art prides itself on allowing everyone to learn to be creative with simple approaches to painting.  Designed to ease any fear you may have about paints, how to paint, what kind of paints, colors, how to use a brush, etc.  This workshop will demystify painting with oil! Drawing/Illustration Learn fundamentals through traditional teaching techniques.  Including composition, perspective, shading, sketching and the development and celebration of personal style.  Learn how to train your artist's eye and the ability to break down anything into shape, value and line.  Dry and wet mediums will be demonstrated. Ceramics Plates, mugs, sculpture, platters, vases, anything your mind can imagine, Studio 4 Art will help you learn how to execute!  Techniques in surface design, sgraffito, printmaking on wet clay and the use of unusual tools to create art in all forms.  You can also use this class to continue any workshop, class or as a time to work on your own projects in our studio.  We do have the ability to fire large scale pieces. Sewing Learning to sew is a skill that can be fully accomplished by anyone with proper instruction, guidance and support.  Studio 4 Art will be there every step of the way!  We have machines or bring in your own.  We also have a serging machine! Printmaking   Montoype Workshop Monday's September 20th, 27th, October 4th, 11th Time: 6:30-9:00 Price: $200.00 Includes all supplies This comprehensive class will introduce you to one of the most enlightening and free forms of printmaking, with an emphasis on experimentation and creativity.  Learn to create one-of-a-kind prints using drawing, painting and collage.  Explore color mixing, color theory, brushwork, stencils and unique tools to create fun, expressive prints.  Learn to pull highly developed monotypes by hand and with the aid of a press.  We will be using only non-toxic inks in this class. Linocut Printmaking Class Thursday August 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th or October 18th, 25th, November 1st, 8th Time: 6:30-9:00 Price: $200.00 Includes all suppliesStudents will learn about tools, transfer methods, how to pick an image, how to carve, and inking to create relief prints.  Students will use high quality inks and Rives BFK paper.

Encaustic Painting (hot beeswax)    Transparent Encaustic Painting Workshop September 15th (Saturday) or December 2nd (Sunday) Time: 10:00-4:00 (with a lunch break) Price: $150.00 Includes all supplies and tools included Students will be working on a 8"x10" piece of plexiglass.  Encaustic work is usually created on a solid wooden form, but when created on a piece of see-through material, you get the luminosity that is intrinsic to the hot wax medium.  We will also cover directions on how to make your own encaustic material and what supplies you may need if you want to continue creating at home.  Great way to play with a new medium and/or a new surface. Stencils and Embossing with Encaustics August 19th or November 18th Time: 10:00-4:00 Price: $165.00 Includes all suppliesYou will complete a 11"x11" encaustic painting.  This is full of experimentation, learning about hot wax and how to use with the ease of using stencils, stamps and other objects to create a fun, abstract work.  No experience necessary.  This medium and this method allows you to just play and not worry about your results, although you will love your work!

Mosaics Mosaic and Surfaces Tuesdays beginning September 11th Time: 7:00-9:00 Price: $150.00 for 4 consecutive classes Includes all supplies If bringing own substrate, tiles and adhesive $100At time of registration you will decide on which project you would like to work on; 12"x12" substrate, frame, mirror (12"x12"), stepping stone, name plaque or address plaque. A perfect introduction to mosaics using ceramic tile, found objects and small ceramic sculpture.  This is a great building block for those that love to explore and experiment, have future ideas in mind for school fundraising projects, or further mosaic projects.  This is a class that covers design, terminology, types of materials (historical and newer approaches), substrates, fixatives, tools, grouting, sealing and finishing. Mosaic Wall Art Workshop Saturday August 11th Time: 10:00-4:00 (with a lunch break) or Tuesday's August 7th and 14th Time: 6:30-9:00 Price: $165.00 Includes all suppliesStudents will make a 12"x12" wall piece to take home.  A perfect introduction to design through the use of broken tiles.  This is a great building block for those that love to explore and experiment, have future ideas in mind for school fundraising projects, or further mosaic projects.  This is a class that covers design, terminology, types of materials (historical and newer approaches), substrates, fixatives, tools, grouting, sealing and finishing.  If you have an image that you would like to use as your art inspiration, please bring (simple is best.
