Sewing Classes and Camps @ Studio 4 Art

Sewing! As a seamstress myself, I have always marveled at looking at a large piece of fabric, then destructing that fabric to reconstruct it into a beautiful piece of ware. All students (especially our boys that get the okay to know that it is cool to sew) have the same astonished marvel that they created something from nothing.

Sewing Classes begin at the age of 4 with sewing by hand with wool felt and continue on through teens with embroidery, pattern design, following pattern directions, understanding how to use a sewing machine, and even creating your own fabric using printing methods. Classes are taught by our fabulous teacher Susan Poer. Her love of fabric and sewing outshines even mine.

Summer Sewing! This summer we are offering 2 full weeks of sewing camp. Each day introducing a new project and technique. Children are encouraged to bring in their own machine to become comfortable using it at home. Small camps ensure great instruction.
